Jo Jo Gunne formed in Los Angeles, California in 1971 by Jay Ferguson (keyboards, vocals and guitar) and Mark Andes (bass guitar and vocals) after they had left Spirit. The group's name is derived from a Chuck Berry song. The band released 4 albums for Asylum Records from 1972-75. After the band's breakup Jay Ferguson went onto a successful solo career and Mark Andes joined Firefall.
